Unaccompanied minors between the age of 5 and 11 years
Assistance for unaccompanied minors must be booked through your tour operator. Assistance should be booked well in advance and no later than 7 days before departure.
Unaccompanied minor document
Parents/the person with parental authority must complete a child escort document before departure. This document includes the child's personal information, itinerary and contact information for the person greeting the child at the final destination. The document must be signed at the airport by the parent/guardian, who must also present valid personal identification. The document is obtained at check-in and accompanies the child throughout the trip.
Check-in, travel and arrival
Check-in for unaccompanied minors must be completed no later than 1 hour prior to departure. The parent/guardian must assist the child through check-in and baggage drop, and must remain at the airport until the aircraft is airborne.
At Helsinki-Vantaa airport, the parent/guardian may accompany the child all the way to the gate. Remember to bring a passport or valid national ID. At other airports, the child will be assisted through security, to the gate and on board the aircraft. Once on board, the cabin crew helps the child to get seated, and keeps an eye on the child during the entire flight.
Upon arrival, the child will be assisted off the aircraft, through baggage pick-up, passport control and customs. The child will then be handed over to the person specified on the escort document, upon presentation of valid identification.
Delays
In case of a delay or any other unforeseen events enroute, the child will receive extra attention, assistance and care. Jettime ensures that parents or guardians are kept informed of any changes, and the child is never left unattended.
Price
The cost for unaccompanied minor assistance is approximately DKK 300 or EUR 40 per flight and is paid at the check-in at the airport.
We do not accommodate children under 5 years old traveling alone.
