Jettime's liability is limited in accordance with the Montreal Convention. Therefore, we recommend that you contact your own insurance company and inquire about the possibility of compensation for damaged baggage.
According to Article 31, Paragraph 2 of the Montreal Convention, you have to complete a Property Irregularity Report (PIR) for reporting the damage, within seven days of the occurrence of the damage. To submit a compensation claim to Jettime, please complete the Baggage Claim Form. It is important to include the Property Irregularity Report (PIR) number in the Baggage Claim Form and attach a photo of the damaged baggage.
If you wish to submit a claim against Jettime, please note that Jettime’s liability is conditional upon being able to prove timely notification, that the damage occurred while the baggage was under Jettime's care, and proof of purchase including date and price of the damaged baggage.
When determining compensation amounts, deductions are made for age and any missing receipts. In the absence of a receipt, a deduction of 50% will be applied.
You are responsible for ensuring that your baggage is suitable for air transport.
Jettime does not provide compensation for damages resulting from errors and defects relating to the baggage itself, or for damage due to over-packed baggage, cosmetic and/or superficial damages due to wear and tear during transport - including minor scratches, cracks, dents, stains/dirt, damages to wheels, handles, support feet, retractable handles/straps, attached locks and zipper tabs, as well as damages related to broken locks. Baggage may be inspected for security reasons without the passenger's presence or knowledge, if necessary by breaking the lock.
Jettime does not cover any damage to baggage or items that are not permitted for carriage on the flight and/or must not be in checked baggage. Damage to particularly valuable, important or fragile items, such as bottles, cameras, jewelry, electronic devices or other valuables, is therefore not covered.
Particularly fragile baggage, such as - but not limited to - sports equipment, bicycles, strollers and prams that have not been packed in Airshells or equivalent protection approved for air transport, are carried at your own risk.
Damage to hand baggage, including personal belongings, is not covered unless it can be proven that the damage was caused by negligence/error on the part of Jettime.
