The Sustainable Jettime

Deliver more than just a flight – an even greener flight

Jettime aims to work towards a more sustainable flight operation continuously.

At the same time, we need to manage our “green” initiatives in a balanced way and prioritize based on investments needed, complexity and how fast we can implement the specific initiatives.

UN's Sustainable Development Goals

In Jettime, we have chosen to work with UN's Sustainable Development Goals as the overall frame for our sustainability work .

We have a special focus on Goals #8 & #12. These two goals are closest to Jettime's cores business and within areas where we have the biggest impact.

UN Sustainable Development goals

Jettime works with two clear targets that we believe are reachable within a period of 5 years (2021-2025):

Reduce CO2 emissions by 10% per passenger seat kilometre.

Reduce single-use plastic consumption on board by 50%

Jettime has by end of 2023 managed to reduce CO2 emission per passenger seat kilometre by 8%. The actual CO2 emission was 67,1 grams per passenger seat kilometre.

Sustainable Aviation - Aircraft

Jettimes fleet

All 11 aircraft in Jettimes fleet are equipped with winglets, which reduces CO2 emission by 1.8% on an average 4-hour flight per a/c.

In addition, Jettime has invested in split scimitar winglets on 6 of our aircraft, which is over half of our fleet (see picture at the top of the page).

The split scimitar winglets have led to an additional reduction of CO2 emission per aircraft by 1,8%.

Investments 2024

Futher investemets to reduce our environmental footprint are planned within the coming years. Amongst other things we look at replacing the seats in our aircraft with new seats that weigh 30% less than the standard aircraft seat.

Sustainable Aviation - Pilots

Jettime has invested in the start-op company FuelVision in 2023. Together we develop a software application for the Jettime pilots. The application enhances the pilots attention to the procedures which can optimize the fuel consumption and thereby reduce the CO2 emmssion.

The development work of the application continues and offers new insights and knowledge in terms of more fuel-efficient flying.

Sustainable Aviation - Plastic

Jettimes Reduction on single-use plastic consumption on board

Jettime has set the goal to reduce our single-use plastic consumption on board our aircrafts by a minimum of 50% before 2025.

To reach that goal Jettime has removed the following items on board

Plastic steers
Plastic straws
Plastic cutlery
Plastic coffee cups
Plastic glasses are reduced to half the amount

Furthermore, Jettime has removed or reduced a number of different items on board like sugar and napkins.

Here is a list of things Jettime has done to be more sustainable on board our flight

One of the more important initiatives is our food concept on board. We do not serve food that contains meat from 4-legged animals.

Our crew on board also mentions other areas where Jettime focuses to reduce the environmental food print:

Avoid food waste on board
Waste sorting on board
Plastic cutlery replaced by EU certified wooden cutlery
Hot meals served without red meat
Reduced amount of single-use plastic products (Turtle marked cups)
Flying with a full aircraft and flying direct from A to B reduces CO2 emissions
